Our Mission - “Keeping People First”

The Arc of Westmoreland is committed to a “People First” approach, which offers those with mental retardation and developmental disabilities and their families, the supports, services and opportunities necessary to have freedom, choice and control in their lives.

To accomplish our mission we will:

Advocate with, educate and provide support for those we serve and their families to ensure access to all services that are available and to which they may be entitled as well as the opportunity to choose where and how they live, learn, work and play.

Secure funding through public and private sources to support our goals.

Deliver the highest quality programs and services to those we serve and their families.

Support the development and implementation of public policy that furthers our goals.

Educate the community about the rights and abilities of those we serve and the prevention of mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
